Montgomery Legal PLLC is a veteran-owned family-law practice in Asheville, North Carolina. This Privacy Policy explains how the office handles information collected through this website, montgomerylegalpllc.com. It covers people who visit the site, send an inquiry, use the cost calculator or case-intake form, or submit a testimonial. Using the site does not create an attorney-client relationship.
This policy describes the public website. After we are engaged as counsel, client information is handled under that engagement and the professional rules that apply to North Carolina lawyers, not only this page.
Information you give us
Contact inquiries
If you use the contact form (on the Contact page, a service or article page, after using the cost calculator, or after the case-intake questionnaire), we collect the name, email address, phone number, and message you submit. You may attach up to three files (PDF, Word (DOCX), or images such as JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, or AVIF), 20 MB each.
If you used the cost calculator or the case-intake form and then opened the contact form, your selected services, sample grand total, and (for intake) the answers you gave may be included in the message. Those figures are sample estimates only. They are not a quote or a retainer. You can edit the message before you send it.
Please do not include Social Security numbers, account numbers, or other highly sensitive details in a message or attachment until we have agreed in writing to represent you. Unsolicited information you send before an engagement may not be privileged.
Phone, mail, and the contact form
If you call (828) 782-3084, write to 207 Hillside Street, Asheville, NC 28801, or send a message through our Contact page, we collect what you choose to share in that conversation.
Testimonials
If you submit a testimonial, we collect the name and comments you provide, and how you would like to be listed if the office publishes the review. Submissions are reviewed before they appear. The office keeps your full name on file even if a shorter listing is published. Do not include confidential case details.
Information collected when you visit
When a page loads, the site may receive ordinary technical information such as browser type, the page requested, the referring site, and country-level location. We keep a limited record of public page views so we can understand how the site is used. We do not store IP addresses in that record, and we do not sell that information or use it to advertise to you.
The cost calculator and case-intake form may store your sample selections in your browser so they can be carried into the contact form or the calculator. That information stays on your device unless you send a message.
Cookies and analytics
This site may use Google Analytics if a measurement ID is configured. If it is in use, Google may set cookies and collect usage information under Google’s own terms. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site may also use Vercel Analytics, a first-party snippet that records page views, in addition to the limited first-party page-view record described above.
We do not use advertising cookies to follow you across other websites, and we do not sell personal information.
How we use information
We use inquiries to respond, to decide whether we can help, and to keep a record of the request. We use technical and analytics information to operate and improve the website.
We share information with companies that host the site, deliver email to the office, and (if in use) measure how the pages are used, only as needed for those purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law, or if needed to protect the firm, our clients, or others from harm.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information for advertising.
How long we keep information
Contact messages, attachments, and testimonial submissions are kept as long as reasonably needed to respond, to maintain our records, and to meet legal or professional obligations. Usage records are kept for a limited time. If you ask us to delete an inquiry, we will do so where we are not required to keep it.
