Terms of Use

Please read these terms before using this website, the cost calculator, the case-intake form, or the contact form. Using the site does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Last updated: August 19, 2026.

These Terms of Use apply to the Montgomery Legal PLLC website at montgomerylegalpllc.com, including its pages, forms, articles, the cost calculator, and the case-intake questionnaire. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Montgomery Legal PLLC is a North Carolina professional limited liability company. The office is at 207 Hillside Street, Asheville, NC 28801. You may reach us at (828) 782-3084 or through our Contact page.

The website is informational

This site describes a family-law practice in Asheville and Western North Carolina. Pages about marital agreements, divorce, custody, child support, adoption, estate planning, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution, small claims, and related topics (including blog articles bylined The Purralegals) are general information. They are not legal advice and are not a substitute for advice about your facts, goals, and county. Laws change. Reading an article or a service page does not mean those materials apply to you.

No attorney-client relationship

Visiting this website, using the cost calculator or case-intake form, reading the blog, or submitting the contact form does not create an attorney-client relationship. We are not your lawyers until both sides have agreed to an engagement, ordinarily in writing. Until then, do not send confidential information you would not want a third party to see. We may already represent someone with conflicting interests, and we may decline a matter for any lawful reason.

Submitting a form is not a request we are required to accept, and it does not impose a duty to respond by a particular deadline. Unsolicited information you send may not be privileged. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected through the site.

Contact form and files

The contact form is a way to introduce your situation so the office can decide whether to talk further. Required fields are your name, email, phone, and a message. You may attach up to three files (PDF, Word (DOCX), or images, 20 MB each). Please do not include account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive details until we are engaged. Before sending, you must confirm that you have read the disclaimer and agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

Cost calculator and case intake

The cost calculator produces sample estimates from the services and difficulty levels you select. The case-intake form asks questions about a Western North Carolina family-law matter (including Buncombe County District Court practice) and maps those answers onto the same sample lines. Those figures are for discussion only. They are not a quote, fee agreement, or retainer, and they do not create an attorney-client relationship. Actual fees depend on the matter. If you continue to the contact form, your selected services, sample grand total, and intake answers may be included in the message; you can edit that text before sending.

No guarantee of results

Every matter is different. Testimonials, sample estimates, and descriptions of past work are not a promise of a particular outcome. We do not guarantee results.

Intellectual property

The text, layout, photographs, logos, and other materials on this site are owned by Montgomery Legal PLLC or used with permission. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, scrape, or republish substantial portions of the site, or use the firm’s name or marks in a way that suggests sponsorship, without written consent. Brand-use notes for journalists and directories are on our Press page.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site. That includes attempting to disrupt it, submitting malware or automated spam, impersonating another person, or using a form to send threats or unlawful content. We may block access or discard submissions that appear abusive.

Third-party sites

The site may include a Google Maps embed and links to Google Maps, directories, or other third-party pages. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for them. A link or map is not an endorsement.

Limitation of liability

The website is provided as a public information resource. We do not warrant that it will always be available, or that every page is complete or current. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Montgomery Legal PLLC and the people who work here are not liable for damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website, including reliance on general information published here.

This limitation applies to the website only. It does not reduce any duty we owe you if we have agreed in writing to represent you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in North Carolina have jurisdiction over disputes arising from your use of this website, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes

We may revise these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the site after a revision is acceptance of the updated terms. Questions may be sent through our Contact page or by calling (828) 782-3084.
